Google has been making all sorts of changes to its Now launcher on Android smartphones, and it seems that it's preparing even more features. Recent information has pointed to the fact that the company is testing a new Dashboard tab in Google Now.

A bottom row of tabs have been added to Google Now, containing the shortcuts to Google Home and Dashboard, says Android Police. The new Dashboard will collect data from across various Google services and provide it into one tab.

The feature is said to accommodate the integration of Google Assistant, and it seems to only be working with the new Nexus Launcher. The Dashboard will collect data like reminders, events on the calendar, to-do lists saved in Keep, emails, photos from Assistant in Google Photos, and much more.

Needless to say, the feature will be very useful for people to keep an eye on the events that they wish to attend and tasks that they must complete, all neatly arranged in one place and easy to access. It's unknown at this point if the new Dashboard will have features that allow third-party services to collect and display data.

The new Dashboard seems to be connected to the new Nexus Launcher

There's not much information on the new Dashboard, and it might be connected to the Nexus Launcher leak, considering that only some users see it. The new Nexus Launcher would only appear on upcoming Nexus smartphones that are set to be released this year, but it's unclear if it will also be provided for previous Nexus phones as well.

Google has recently added Explore Interests feature to Google Now, thus preparing for the integration of Google Assistant. The feature would allow users to get information based on their interests and track the matters that they're most concerned about. Interests can be arranged into categories, including people, musicians, sports, and much more.
