Google has just announced that two of its Android applications have been updated with a few new features and improvements: Sheets and Slides.

The updated versions of Google Sheets and Slides applications for Android should appear on Google Play Store in the next couple of days. According to developers, the rollout will be staged, which means it might take up to 3 days for the new apps to arrive on users’ Android devices.

Moving on to the actual changes included in the update, it’s worth mentioning Sheets for Android users will now be able to send a copy of or save a spreadsheet as an HTML web file (provided in a .zip folder) from the “Share & export” menu.

Also, developers have confirmed that Sheets users will be able to save the sheet they’re currently viewing as a .csv or .tsv file from the “Share & export” menu.

View Google Drawings in spreadsheets

Another new feature included in the updated Sheets apps is the option to view Google Drawings in spreadsheets. However, keep in mind that Drawings will not be visible in frozen rows and columns.

Next in line, Slides for Android application now allows users to send a copy of or download the slide they are currently viewing as a .jpeg, .png, or .svg file from the “Share & export” menu.

These are all the new changes for Sheets and Slides Android apps, which were confirmed by Google, but small under-the-hood improvements and minor bug fixes might have been added as well.

If you don’t have any of the two applications, you can now download Google Sheets for Android for free via Google Play store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.1 and up.

Also, Google Slides for Android can be downloaded for free via Google Play Store. The application should work smoothly on all devices running Android 4.1 and up.
