Company starts surveying users on Wear OS satisfaction

Google has recently completed the takeover of Fitbit, and many believe it’s now just a matter of time until the company comes up with its very own Google-branded smartwatch.

While the search giant has remained completely tight-lipped on the whole thing, it has now started surveying users about the Wear OS satisfaction, trying to determine how its wearable platform can be improved going forward.

A notification showing up on devices where a Wear OS device has been configured tells users to “help us improve Wear OS by Google,” with the main question asking them how satisfied they are with the platform.

The Fitbit takeover

Google announced earlier this month it completed the takeover of Fitbit, and while the company didn’t say anything about a potential smartwatch wearing its badge, most people think it’s all just a matter of time until it happens.

“This is just the beginning because becoming part of the Google family means we can do even more to inspire and motivate you on your journey to better health. We’ll be able to innovate faster, provide more choices, and make even better products to support your health and wellness needs. On our own, we pushed the bounds of what was possible from the wrist, pioneering step, heart rate, sleep and stress tracking. With access to Google’s incredible resources, knowledge and global platform, the possibilities are truly limitless,” Fitbit said in a statement.

A Google Pixel smartwatch has made the headlines several times in the past, but up to this point, such a device is nowhere to be seen. With help from Fitbit, Google can build such a device and tackle the health business at the same time, as right now, such capabilities have attracted the biggest investments from other tech giants, including Apple itself.
