There have been quite a few rumors in the last couple of days about a possible Android Wear release this month, which seem to have been 100% accurate.

Google has just kicked off the rollout of Android Wear 6.0 to compatible smartwatches. Although the update will be pushed beginning today, it may take up to a few weeks to reach all devices, Google explains.

On the bright side, Android Wear 6.0 will be available for the new smartwatches as well, including the Casio Smart Outdoor Watch and Huawei Watch for Ladies.

The latest Android Wear release brings major messaging improvements since it's now supporting more instant messengers.

For example, smartwatch users will now be able to use their voice to send messages from apps such as Google Hangouts, Nextplus, Telegram, Viber, WeChat, and WhatsApp.

Also, the update should add new gestures that will help users navigate easier through their smartwatch's menus. New gestures have been added that will allow users to expand a card, bring up some of the apps installed, or return home to a watch's face with a shake, lift or push.

Listen to audio/video messages on your watch

Those smartwatches that include a speaker will also benefit from audio support. Thanks to speaker support, users will be able to make and take calls over Bluetooth.

But that's not all, as Google announces that users will be able to listen to audio and video messages with third-party apps (Glide).

In the same piece of news, Google confirms that Huawei Watch and Asus ZenWatch 2 come with speaker inside, so the new audio support will provide users with extra features after installing Android Wear 6.0.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed in stages, which means not all smartwatches will receive Android 6.0 Wear at the same time. The complete rollout should end in the next couple of weeks, so wait patiently for the update to arrive on your watch.
