Google released the first Android 7.1.2 beta version back in January, while the second beta update followed in March to Nexus and Pixel devices. Now, the tech giant is pushing out the stable Android 7.1.2 version to users outside the beta program.

Google started rolling out the stable Android 7.1.2 Nougat to Pixel C and Nexus Player devices, while the next update to hit devices will most likely be Android O. The first Android O Developer Preview was introduced last month, and it’s available on Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Nexus Player devices.

The stable Android 7.1.2 Nougat won’t arrive to Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices, as the previous 7.1.1 update was the last for these two handsets.

Android 7.1.2 Nougat brings some minor improvements, being “an incremental maintenance update focused on polishing and refinements,” Google said. It fixes some bugs and provides optimizations, together with a few enhancements for carriers, as well as users.

Android 7.1.2 brings new multi-tasking features

The latest Android Nougat update provides new features for Google Nexus 6P users, including fingerprint gestures. These will allow users to simply swipe down on the fingerprint sensor in order to check on their notifications. Pixel owners have the same features at hand.

The feature can be accessed by enabling it from the Moves section inside the Settings menu, while the tool also arrived to Nexus 5X owners last month. In addition, Android 7.1.2 brings the Pixel Launcher to Pixel C tablets, although the launcher might look a bit different on the larger device.

It’s worth mentioning that Google might be looking to change the design of the Pixel Launcher, and incorporate a new layout that has a similar search bar as Google Now Launcher. Moreover, Pixel C has ditched its app drawer, while users simply need to swipe up from the bottom of the screen in order to see their installed software.
