When Google announced the name of the next Android version yesterday, Android Nougat was quite a surprise for some. But besides that, the Mountain View-based giant has unveiled the Android Nougat statue at Googleplex and created a Snapchat story with what seems to be an iPhone smartphone.

The name of the upcoming Android version has been highly anticipated over the past few weeks, since Google announced during I/O this year that it released a platform where people from all over the world could guess the name of the version.

Android Nougat was announced yesterday, and it caused quite some confusion and frowns, considering that many were betting on Nutella as the moniker for the new operation system version. Actually, Android VP Hiroshi Lockheimer even posted a series of tweets over the past few weeks, strongly hinting at Nutella as the name of the upcoming Android version.

Google might have created the Snapchat story with an iPhone

In any case, Google unveiled the Android Nougat statue at Googleplex and created a Snapchat story of the unveiling. However, some questions were raised when the Snapchat story included some emojis that were only found on iOS, thus making many suspect that Google might have taken the images using an iPhone, according to Android Authority.

This is all simply speculation at this point, but the Snapchat story does feature the image of a woman who sits on the Nougat statue at Googleplex. Interestingly enough, her face is covered by an emoji that’s found on iOS, and not Android. This would have us believe that maybe the story was taken with an iPhone, considering that even stock emojis in Snapchat are slightly different on Android and iOS.

Whatever the case, since Google announced Android 7.0 Nougat, it shouldn’t be long before the company releases the new version to developers and makes an official launch. During the event, Google is also expected to release two new Nexus smartphones.
