During this year’s Google I/O, the company presented some interesting new products, including the Playbook by Google Play Android application. The app was initially in closed beta testing for a month, but now Google has decided to change its name and introduce it to all users.

Google has changed the app’s name to Playbook for Developers and made it globally available free of charge in the Play store. Its main focus is to provide Android developers with simple means of getting the latest information on Android features and recommended practices in the field.

More exactly, the application allows developers to get the latest news on Android features and search for the information that they’re interested in. It also lets users customize the app’s homepage and specify which businesses they focus on so that Google can provide them with relevant information.

Moreover, users will get a curated set of articles and videos each day, which means that Google will provide content that’s produced by third-party partners as well. All articles found in Google’s Playbook for developers are arranged into multiple categories, including Develop, Launch, Engage, Grow and Earn.

The application also allows developers to share and save specific articles or remove those they’re not keen on. In addition, the application is designed to learn the user’s preferences based on the content they consume and share.

Playbook for Developers requires users to be connected to the Internet when using the application, as it doesn’t come with an offline reading mode. The application is already available in Google Play Store, it supports Android 5.0 or later, and it’s available in multiple languages.

This is the second app that Google releases for Google Play developers. The first, Google Play Developer Console, allows users to review the performance of their apps, see financial data and get notified of the app’s status or read user reviews.
