If Google gets this right, it might become a popular thing

After we previously mentioned that an FCC filing hinted us that a new Glass is incoming, Google has finally announced that an improved Google Glass version for enterprises named Enterprise Edition is indeed coming.

We also found out that it'll carry Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeable battery and an improved Intel Atom CPU. However, judging by the much-increased 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi speed, we can assume that it will be destined for a lot of live video transmissions, and as such a powerful battery with a larger screen and display prism are to be expected.

This time we also found out that Google has filed a hand gesture command set at the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) that included a frame making gesture with your fingers in order to take a picture with your Glass-like device.

Google plans to have the camera activated once the gesture is recognized while the orientation of the image will be based on the position of the hands making gesture as well.

With proper and sharp responsiveness this feature might prove popular

According to the patent document filed at the USPTO more gestures will be recognized by the Glass depending on the picture format, focus or panel selection within the field. The document also states that the Glass will detect if one or more hands are shaped and positioned in frame formation, at least one image will be captured to be used as an image reference, it will determine a frame area in a field-of-view of the camera based on the frame formation and many other image capturing features.

Apparently, the photo capturing mechanism will be triggered when the user will retract his hands from the photo making gesture.

All in all, Google hopes the new Glass will have more success in company businesses and corporations as it will be a very useful tool for worker and/or employee supervision while it can also be an adequate communication device for video conferencing on the move.

Although it's unknown when the new Glass will come out, more details about the device come up almost daily.
