Nexus handset owners will be pleased to know that Google has launched a contest that could see them win one of the 10 awarded Nexus Live Cases. What users are required to do is write a review of a local place in Google Maps.

Google has launched the contest for Google Maps Local Guides users, and winners can get a free, custom Nexus Live Case for their Nexus 6P or 5X device. To enter the competition, users need to head over to Google Maps on the desktop or a mobile device and leave high-quality reviews of places they’ve recently visited. Reviews of local businesses also register in the contest.

Users who wish to participate must be 18 or older and US residents. The reviews must be truthful and accurate, and those interested must follow some strict rules that regard language, grammar, and content.

In order to register, users must sign up as a Local Guide and write a review for Google Maps. The text must have an appropriate length, be relevant to the location, capture the spirit of the place, and authors must pay attention to the writing style. Moreover, Google encourages creativity when writing the pieces.

The contest ends on June 30, and winners will be announced on July 8

The contest started on June 6 and will end on June 30, leaving plenty of time for users to post various reviews of places and even businesses. 10 lucky winners will be announced on July 8, and they will be receiving one of the 10 free custom Nexus Live Cases, which sell for the price of about $35 each.

Nexus Live Case is a new service that allows users of Nexus 5X, 6 and 6P smartphones to design a case in any way they wish. The Live Case is highly customizable as users can choose their favorite photos or special places on Google Maps, add various filters and create their very own case. In addition, Live Case offers live wallpapers to animate the handset’s screen.
