Price tag could be the main aspect in choosing the device

Google has just unveiled the Nexus 6P, its flagship smartphone for the next 12 months or so. There were no surprising features the device packs courtesy to a series of leaks that emerged days before the official reveal.

But how is the Nexus 6P going to fair against other flagship smartphones already available on the market? Since the smartphone has some ups and downs, the only person that could answer this question will be you, the customer.

While the flagship smartphones have some specs in common, like the 5.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 coating, there are a few features that set them apart.

The main advantage of the Nexus 6P is that it comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box and no bloatware whatsoever. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 5 is still stuck on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and there's plenty of unwanted apps and services preinstalled in the phone.

On a more positive note for Samsung fans, the Galaxy Note 5 wins the performance war since the phablet is equipped with a powerful 64-bit 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 7420 processor, a Mali-T760MP8 and 4GB of RAM.

On the other hand, Nexus 6P is powered by a 64-bit 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, an Adreno 430 graphics processing unit and only 3GB of RAM.

Plenty of differences, so customers should have an easy time choosing

When it comes to storage, the Nexus 6P comes in three variants (32GB, 64GB and 128GB), whereas the Note 5 is only available in two versions: 32GB and 64GB. That's pretty important since neither comes with microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Another strong point of the Nexus 6P is the fact that it comes with USB Type-C port, where's the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 still uses the older microUSB 2.0.

Both smartphones are powered by non-removable batteries, but Nexus 6P wins again since it packs a 3,450 mAh battery, while the Note 5 is equipped with a 3,000 mAh battery.

One of the important aspects that matter for Android fans is camera. Google Nexus 6P has been confirmed to pack a 12.3-megapixel camera with laser autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 features a better 16-megapixel camera with autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash and 4K video recording.

Last but not least, both flagship smartphones come with fingerprint sensor and LTE support, but only the Galaxy Note 5 comes with wireless charging.

Let's not forget though that Google will sell the Nexus 6P for only $500 outright while the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 still costs $700.
