The option has already started rolling out

Google has been working on improving its Maps application and providing users with more features and tools, and now the company has just introduced a new option that allows them to set multiple destinations in a single trip. It goes beyond saying that the feature is one of the most useful to reach Google Maps and that it was highly anticipated by users.

The tool was first spotted in the Google Maps v9.31 beta last week, and by the looks of things, it has started going live for end users, according to Android Police. The new feature enables users to set multiple stops along the route, as is the case on the web version too.

Even though the feature was spotted in the v9.31 beta APK, Google apparently decided to make it a server-side update. This means that it's possible that only the most recent Maps versions will receive it automatically. Either way, it will take some time before it reaches end users.

The multiple destinations feature is available on Android and iOS

Since Google decided to make the feature available for Android and iOS Maps users, they simply need to press the “+” button at the bottom of the screen so that they can add multiple stops in between their starting point and destination. The app continues to calculate the total trip time, depending on the means of transportation that was previously selected. It also displays the route on the map below the list of stops.

This is not the only new feature that's rolling out to users. Google Maps will also include ad-supported search results. In other words, whenever users search for certain locations, like coffee shops, restaurants or gas stations, some of the results will be ads, but a badge with the ad word will warn users that the search result is a paid ad.

The beta version 9.31 of Google Maps also fixed the issue that the application had in Android N Developer Preview 4, as Maps crashed on Android Auto.
