14 DAY TRIAL // Just two days before kicking off the I/O 2016 event in San Francisco, Google launched a new application named Spaces. In an official post on Google Blog, Product Director Luke Wroblewski mentioned that the new Spaces application “lets people get people together instantly to share around any topic.”
Sharing content in group conversations can be tiresome, especially since it requires users to switch between multiple applications in order to copy and paste links. It seems that Google thought of a new way to reinvent group sharing, by developing Spaces.
The new application, Spaces, sports a really clean and fresh design that makes it easy to create small groups and search for content to share. It comes with Google Search, YouTube, and Chrome built in, so users can easily find links that they can later share with other people in the group.
The main focus is to find and share articles, videos, and images without having to leave the app and miss on important messages. When a user shares something new to the group, the conversational view allows others to see posted messages without missing out on any information. Articles, videos or comments shared earlier can be found using the quick search tool.
Google will be testing the Spaces app during this week’s I/O event
Groups are called spaces, and the application allows users to create as many as they want and invite friends via messaging, email or a social network. Spaces was designed for small groups as Google already has a Community feature on Google+ for people to share content with a large group of users.
The company mentioned its intention to test the new Spaces application during the Google I/O event this week. It has already created a space for each session so that developers can interact with Googlers around I/O topics and share content.
Less than a week ago, Google also launched a new keyboard, the Gboard for iOS, which allows users to find information and paste links into conversations, without having to switch between multiple apps.
Spaces app started rolling out today on Android, iOS, desktop and mobile web, users need a Gmail account in order to log in and check it out.
