Google has officially unveiled the new Google Pixel 4a, but while everybody knew this device was coming, the search giant also prepared a few surprises for its users.

Because alongside the Pixel 4a, Google also announced the Google Pixel 5 and the Pixel 4a 5G, both of which will see daylight later this fall. The Pixel 4a with 5G support will be available from $499, Google says.

As for the new 4a, the device comes with a 5.81-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, and it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chip paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The GPU chip is an Adreno 618, while for battery, the Pixel 4a sports a 3140 mAh unit that should easily get you through the day. The device still features a headphone jack, and will first go on sale in the UK, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia, Canada, and Japan from $349.

Solid camera performance

One particular highlight on the new Pixel is a 12.2-megapixel rear camera whose performance is further enhanced by features also available on the Pixel 4.

“With the same incredible camera experiences from Pixel 4 and a redesigned hole-punch design, Pixel 4a brings the same features that have helped millions of Pixel owners take great shots. HDR+ with dual exposure controls, Portrait Mode, Top Shot, Night Sight with astrophotography capabilities and fused video stabilization—they’re all there,” Google explains.

More like a rival to the iPhone SE, Google Pixel 4a comes in a Just Black finish and features the signature color pop power button in mint. The device is already available for pre-order, and it is projected to begin shipping on August 20.

As far as the Pixel 4a with 5G and the Google Pixel 5, the search giant says they will be available in U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Australia.
