Google acknowledged the problem a month ago

Pixel and Pixel XL owners have been dealing with quite an upsetting Bluetooth issue on their smartphones. Apparently, Pixel and Pixel XL phones started losing Bluetooth connectivity following the February security patch update.

Users noticed that the Bluetooth failed to connect in cars or suddenly disconnected. There were some cases in which Bluetooth connectivity simply switched off, for no apparent reason. Google caught word of the issue and assured Pixel and Pixel XL owners that a fix was on the way.

This was nearly a month ago and Google has just found a fix for the issue. The announcement was made on Google’s Product Forums and says that Google finished putting together a fix for the issue. Users won’t require downloading any software to their devices, as the fix will be rolled out automatically via a Google Play Services update.

It will take a few days for the fix to reach all Pixel and Pixel XL users, so those who own such devices should test their Bluetooth connection to see if the issue is still there.

No word as to what exactly caused the Bluetooth issue

Sadly, Google didn’t specifically say what exactly went wrong and why Bluetooth connectivity suddenly dropped for some users. Those who still encounter the issue can take to Google’s Product Forums to let developers know.

Another issue that has been affecting Pixel and Pixel XL devices is connected to the devices’ built-in microphone. Apparently, one of the three microphones inside the phones suddenly stops working, causing total audio input block. In some situations, microphones only work with the camera app during recording video.

Google acknowledged this issue, but said that it couldn’t be fixed through a software update. Instead, the tech giant encourages users to ask for a replacement from the retailer who sold the unit. Google added that the issue affects very few units manufactured since January, less than 1% of them should be affected by mic problems.
