Turkey was the first European country to get an Android One smartphone, but now Google introduced its program in two other European countries: Spain and Portugal.

The search giant has just teamed up with BQ to launch the first Android One smartphone in these countries, the Aquaris A4.5.

BQ is the same company that launched some of the first Ubuntu smartphones in various parts of the world, but now offers Android fans the option to grab a cheap device that will receive major updates for a long time.

Potential customers may want to know that BQ Aquaris A4.5 is now available for purchase in Spain for €170, while Android fans in Portugal can get it for €180 outright, a new report confirms.

It will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow later this year

As expected, BQ Aquaris A4.5 comes preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. But the smartphone will continue to receive software updates directly from Google for the next two years.

That includes Android 6.0 Marshmallow which will be released sometime next month. BQ Aquaris A4.5 will be among the first smartphones to receive the new version of the OS as an update.

When it comes to specs, BQ's smartphone is equipped with a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735M processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

The Aquaris A4.5 sports a 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960) pixels resolution and features Asahi DragonTrail glass coating for extra protection.

Then, on the back, the smartphone packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.

BQ Aquaris A4.5 is powered by a 2,470 mAh battery and packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support, along with other connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.
