14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, Google has just came forward with its new Nexus smartphones, the mid-range Nexus 5X and the high-end Nexus 6P.
Manufactured by LG, the cheaper of the two smartphones is the sequel to the Nexus 5, Google confirmed. That's why the Nexus 5X be available for purchase for just $380 outright beginning today in the US, UK, Ireland and Japan.
Keep in mind though that Google announced that both Nexus smartphones will only sell online via Google Play Store. It's also worth mentioning Nexus 5X will be available in two variants based on storage amount: 16GB and 32GB.
According to Google, shipping for both Nexus smartphones will begin later in October. The search giant also announced that in US, all pre-orders come with a $50 free Google Play store card.
In the rest of the countries, all Nexus smartphone pre-orders come with free 3-month Google Music subscription.
In addition, customers will be able to choose from three color options: Charcoal Black, Ice Blue and Quartz White. More color schemes might be available in the future, but for now these are the only versions confirmed by Google.
No OIS for camera and no wireless charging
Specs-wise, it looks like all the rumored features that we reported on earlier today have been confirmed by Google.
This means the Nexus 5X will be powered by a 64-bit 2GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and only 2GB of RAM.
As mentioned earlier, the smartphone packs either 16GB or 32GB storage, which is very important since the Nexus 5X lacks microSD card slot.
On a more positive note, the Nexus 5X comes with USB Type-C port and a state of the art 12.3-megapixel rear-facing camera that features IR laser-assisted autofocus, LED flash and 4K video recording.
Other highlights of the Nexus 5X includes two front-facing speakers, fingerprint sensor and 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.
