The GnuCash development team announced the release of GnuCash 2.6.15, the newest and most advanced stable version of the open-source and cross-platform accounting software and financial management suite.

GnuCash 2.6.15 arrives three months after the release of the previous build, namely GnuCash 2.6.14, and promises to address a total of seventeen bugs that have been reported by users since then, as well as to improve various areas of the application for all supported platforms, including GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.

Among some of the most important bug fixes that landed in GnuCash 2.6.15, we can mention that the default price source for reports should now be correctly displayed, the software should no longer crash when there aren't any dates available, and the dates for imported Bill and Invoice items from CSV files are now correctly set.

The "Average cost" price source issue has been resolved

GnuCash 2.6.15 also resolves the "Average cost" price source issue many users reported in previous releases, a segfault that occurred during Transaction edit, a crash when attempting to export a report, as well as a crash when importing QIF files from PayPal, which was present on GnuCash 2.6.14 on Windows XP Service Pack 3.

There are various other changes and improvements implemented in GnuCash 2.6.15, which is a recommended update for all users using GnuCash 2.6.14 or a previous release. We recommend studying the changelog attached below if you're curious to know what exactly was fixed in this new stable release.

In the meantime, don't hesitate to download GnuCash 2.6.15 for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from our website. Linux users are advised to remove the guile user cache if they are updating from GnuCash 2.6.0 to 2.6.4 to ensure that several parts of the application will work as expected.
