Chinese company Gionee is determined to launch a few more Android smartphones by the end of this year. The next device in the company's portfolio belongs to the Elife series and will be announced next month.

According to a new report, Gionee has already teased the upcoming release of Elife S6 and confirmed that the smartphone should be officially revealed on November 16.

We expect the handset to be initially introduced in China, but Elife S6 is likely to make its debut in other Asian countries soon afterwards.

Even though Gionee did not reveal anything regarding the Elife S6's specs, rumor has it that this is the same device that's been recently spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, as Gionee GN9007.

We have already reported on the GN9007, but for those out of the loop, here is a quick recap of what the smartphone has to offer in terms of specs.

A really thin smartphone with mid-range specs

First of all, judging by the GN9007's specs, the Elife S6 seems to be a mid-range smartphone. The smartphone will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Amigo 3.1 UI on top of it.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone will be equipped with a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Gionee Elife S6 is expected to sport a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution.

Also, it will feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The teaser image released by Gionee suggests that the Elife S6 will be a really thin device, and TENAA's listing confirms it will have a thickness of 6mm and a weight of around 124g (battery included).
