Ghost of Tsushima, the PlayStation 4 exclusive developed by Sucker Punch, the studio behind the Infamous series, will be released next summer. Along with the release timeframe, Sucker Punch debuted a 4-minute trailer at The Game Awards showing some of the game's premise and how the protagonist came to be The Ghost.

Jin, the main character, starts the game as a samurai, and while players progress the story, they will be able to learn new skills and adopt tactics that are far from being samurai-related. According to Sucker Punch, Ghost of Tsushima is the biggest game has ever made by a wide margin, and the new trailer includes glimpses of the diverse open world that players will get to explore.

Today, we debuted a brand-new trailer that delves deeper into the identity our hero is forced to adopt in order to save his home: The Ghost. In the months ahead, we’ll share more about Jin, the threats he faces, the allies that help him along his journey, and what he’ll have to give up to become this new kind of warrior,” said Andrew Goldfarb, Communications Manager, Sucker Punch Productions.

Ghost of Tsushima resembles From Software's Sekiro and revolves around the last samurai on Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan in the 1270s. As a genre, Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure stealth game played from a third-person perspective.

Playing as Jin Sakai, players will have to master a new fighting style, the way of the Ghost, to defeat the Mongol Empire and fight for the freedom and independence of Japan. Players can engage in confrontation with enemies using weapons such as a katana, but they can also chain up a series of fatal assaults after highlighting the enemies.

Also, making use of the stealth gameplay feature, players can evade enemies and strike them silently. Ghost of Tsushima also features one-versus-one dueling with non-playable characters, but that's optional.
