Developer Sucker Punch has just announced that their masterpiece, Ghost of Tsushima will receive a new co-op multiplayer mode this fall. Dubbed Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the new online cooperative multiplayer mode will come as a free download for owners of the game.

According to developers, the Legends mode won't follow the protagonist's journey nor his companions' stories. Instead, the upcoming multiplayer mode will focus on four warriors who have been built up as legends in stories told by the people of Tsushima.

Ghost of Tsushima: Legends lets players partner up with friends or via online matchmaking and play the game in groups of 2-4 players. Each player will be able to choose from one of the four different character classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. Naturally, each class comes with unique advantages and abilities that can be put to good use during matches.

At least two players are needed to play Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, as they will be able to take on a series of co-op Story missions that escalate in difficulty. These missions build on the foundation of combat from the single-player campaign but with new magical twists that require synchronization between players.

However, with four players, you'll be able to take on wave-based Survival missions, fighting groups of the toughest enemies Tsushima has to offer, including new Oni enemies with supernatural abilities.

Moreover, a new four-player raid will be released shortly after the launch of Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, which will send players to an entirely new realm to challenge a brutal, terrifying enemy. And the best thing about Legends is that it will be free for all Ghost of Tsushima owners. The only downside is that you'll be needing a PS Plus subscription in order to play Legends, so make sure to renew it if you want to try this out with your friends.
