The promotion will run until February 20

Sega and Relic Entertainment are organizing a new Steam promotion for Company of Heroes 2, Total War: Attila, and Dawn of War II, which is accompanied by free games from the Sega catalog.

Unlike other promotions we've seen on Steam, this one is a little bit different and looks a bit like the flash sales that used to be present during major sales. The basic principle is simple. Steam users need to buy / play the games that are being promoted as much as possible in order to unlock free games from the publishers.

Sega has a big collection of titles in its arsenal, and it can afford to give a few of them for free. It's a great tool to promote other, more recent titles, especially if the free games are not selling terribly well right now.

Who doesn't want free games? Right now, players can download for free and keep these games: Golden Axe, Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit (with a couple of DLCs), and Jet Set Radio.

"From Valentine's Day until Feb. 20th, save 75% off Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II, Company of Heroes 2 and Total War: Attila as part of the Make War Not Love 3 event. See makewarnotlove.com for event details including how to help your faction win, prizes and more! The offer ends 10am Pacific on Feb 20th," the Steam announcement reads.

The good news is that more games can be unlocked if the Steam users play one of the three games now discounted, Company of Heroes 2, Total War: Attila, and Dawn of War II.

In just one day, if everything goes well, three more free games are going to be made available, and these are Streets of Rage II, Binary Domain, and Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Hurry up and let's win this contest!
