Nvidia revealed that the customers that get GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti video cards would also receive the unreleased Middle-Earth: Shadow of War.

Shadow of War is the second game in the series, and if it’s anything like Shadow of Mordor, then players are going to get a treat. Nvidia is betting on the game is a success, and the company rarely makes this kind of mistakes.

As the company announced, a Shadow of War key will be provided if you buy a GTX 1080 and 1080 Ti video card. What’s even better is that you’ll get the same deal if you purchase a laptop equipped with the same GPU.

You will need this video card for best performance

If you plan on playing the game with a 1080p resolution, then a regular Nvidia GTX 970 should be more than enough, but on higher resolutions, things change quite a bit. If you want to experience Shadow of War in 4K, you will need at least a GTX 1080 TI, with the High settings. Hitting the Ultra settings on 4K would require at least two GTX 1080 TI, linked in SLI mode.

“Our recommendations are based on extensive testing with Founders Edition graphics cards in Shadow of War’s built-in benchmarking tool, which accurately mirrors performance in the most demanding moments of the game. This ensures that our recommended GeForce GTX graphics cards deliver a fantastic experience from start to finish,” says Nvidia.

Of course, this means that the game will use all the middleware in Nvidia’s arsenal, including Ansel, a technology that allows users to pause the game at any moment and change the camera position for the best possible screenshots.

Even if the game is not launched yet, you can still register the code you receive in your Geforce Experience account. From there, you can redeem the game straight to Steam.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is scheduled for an October 10 release.
