As we're getting closer to Windows 10 Mobile release, more OEMs announce their products powered by the new operating system.

Geanee is a Japanese company that plans to release a cheap smartphone powered by Windows 10 Mobile in the next couple of months.

According to WindowsCentral, Geanee WPJ40-10 will be available in Japan beginning December for just 12,800 yen outright, which is $105 or €97.

Obviously, at that price we don't expect any impressive features to be packed inside Geanee's smartphone. Still, the WPJ40-10 is the perfect device for newcomers to Windows Phone ecosystem, but also for those who never owned a smartphone before.

So, besides Windows 10 Mobile, Geanee WPJ40-10 comes with a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution.

Just another cheap smartphone trying to bring some Windows Phone market share

While there's no mention of the processor inside the Geanee WPJ40-10, we do know the smartphone will be equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. In addition, the smartphone packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

On the back, Geanee's upcoming phone should feature a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel selfie camera.

When it comes to connectivity, the WPJ40-10 offers a plethora of options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

The smartphone will be available in two color options: Black and White. However, it will feature exchangeable back covers, so customers will be able to personalize their phones further by choosing one of the following color options: green, pink, grey, orange and purple.

Even though the Japanese company stated that Geanee WPJ40-10 could be released in 2015-2016, we hope the smartphone will go on sale this year rather than the next.
