Garmin has launched a new smartwatch specifically aimed at athletes, and the company promises stunning battery life.

In a press release, also embedded below, Garmin says the newly-launched Enduro can offer up to 65 days per charge with solar charging, though the company also says that if you use all the bells and whistles, the device can fully go up to 3 days.

In terms of specs, the Enduro sports a 1.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of just 280x280 pixels, and Garmin has equipped it with sensors that make sense for working out, including VO2 Max, GPS for activity tracking, heart rate, the ABC trio, and Pulse Ox.

“Created with endurance athletes in mind, Enduro’s lightweight and durable design features a new UltraFit nylon strap and optional DLC coated titanium bezel. Designed to endure, runners and cyclists can quickly adjust settings to disable certain features to get the longest battery life on a Garmin wearable to date. A full charge will get an athlete 70 hours in GPS mode which is extended to 80 hours with solar capabilities,” Garmin explains.

Needless to say, the main highlight of this device is its impressive battery life, but on the other hand, don’t expect this smartwatch to come cheap.

Titanium version also offered

Garmin will offer two different versions of the Enduro, namely a standard model available for $799.99 and a Titanium edition that will cost $899.99.

The new smartwatch is available today, and Garmin recommends using it with the inReach Mini satellite communicator.

“Users can send and receive messages quickly from the wrist and share their location so friends and family can follow along, even during the longest of races or extended training sessions that go beyond reliable cellular connectivity. The inReach Mini is lightweight and compact and can easily be clipped to a hydration pack or vest. In addition to two-way text messaging and location sharing, inReach Mini includes interactive SOS. When the SOS is activated, a response coordinator will track the device location, notify emergency responders in the area, and stay in communication with preset emergency contacts throughout the incident,” the company explains.

The device ships with a new UltraFit nylon strap specifically design with fitness in mind.
