Garmin has recently announced pregnancy tracking capabilities for the Garmin Connect mobile apps and a series of compatible devices, including the fenix 5 and 6 series, the MARQ lineup, and vivoactive 3 and newer models.

With this new update, women can follow the pregnancy right from their wrists or the mobile phones, as they can now add specific data like baby movement and blood glucose levels.

“You can set up customized reminders to help keep track of hydration goals or to remind you to practice your Kegels. Even get weight gain recommendations to help track your progress. All while tracking your usual health metrics — including sleep, Body Battery, activities and more — from your Garmin wearable to see how your body changes each week, month and trimester,” Garmin explains.

At the same time, beginning with this new update, women will be provided with fun data like the baby size compared to common fruits and veggies, something that has been around for a while in dedicated pregnancy tracking apps available on mobile devices.

New features available today for all users

Other new features include options to pause the training status, enable high heart rate alerts for activities, and adjusting the daily hydration goal.

A new app called Pregnancy Tracking Connect IQ has also been released, and it will sync with the existing Garmin Connect account.

Adding pregnancy-related data in the mobile app is easy. All you need to do is launch the app and head over to User Settings > Women’s Health > Cycle Type > Pregnancy.

Garmin explains that the vivomove series watches are also getting similar capabilities through the Women’s Health Tracking widget.

The new updates are available today once the latest version of the Garmin Connect app is installed on the smartphone and the smartwatch software is up-to-date.
