With the World Cup craze already upon us, it makes sense for companies out there to try to make the most of this highly anticipated as much as possible.

And Samsung is celebrating the football event with a special firmware update for the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro that includes new special faces.

The so-called Ball watch face is part of the latest 517 MB firmware update for the smartwatch, and it includes the flags of the participating teams. It isn’t by any means something spectacular, but it’s an easy way to support your favorite team by just highlighting its flag on your wrist.

As reported by GalaxyClub, the firmware update goes live as R9xxXXU1AVK7, and it also includes the November update that was shipped by Google for Wear OS.

Samsung is betting big on such customization options for its smartwatch, and without a doubt, they are cool additions that users really enjoy trying out every once in a while. As compared to rival Apple, who rarely releases new watch faces and only as part of major software updates, Samsung provides customers with many more customization options on a regular basis.

Not to mention that Wear OS sports an insane number of such tweaks, not only as first-party goodies but also coming from third-party developers out there.

After trying out the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, I can safely say this is one of the best smartwatches this year, not only in terms of tracking but also from a smartwatch perspective. While devices like the Garmin Fenix and the Apple Watch Ultra have been on everybody’s lips for activity tracking, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro deserves a chance as well, especially because it seems to check the right boxes, including top-notch build quality and a rich set of features.
