Samsung is less than 24 hours away from announcing its newest flagship smartphone and exciting new details about the Galaxy S8 continue to surface. The latest regard an interesting new feature that could make the phone even more appealing.

According to a Vodafone UK representative, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ should each feature a 3D camera. The information was leaked when a British woman called Vodafone to ask about a new smartphone.

The representative told the customer that a smartphone with a longer screen, no home button and a 3D camera would arrive at the carrier very soon, according to The Sun. The description seems to match recent leaks about the Galaxy S8, but there’s no way of saying for sure.

Pre-orders at Vodafone UK could start on April 1

The Vodafone representative also said that pre-orders for the new smartphone would start on April 1, which is in line with recent reports that pointed towards a pre-order period starting soon after the unveiling.

3D cameras work by using several images from different angles to create a sense of distance. They require two sensors, but few previous reports on the Galaxy S8 mentioned such a feature on the new phone. Take the information with a grain of salt, as recently leaked images and reports about the new phone didn’t mention such a camera setup. What we do know about the Galaxy S8 is that it will have a 12MP sensor on the back, possibly Sony’s IMX333, while the front camera will have an 8MP sensor.

When it comes to the price of the new smartphone, the Galaxy S8 is said to cost about €815, while the Galaxy S8+ could have a €925 price tag in the Czech Republic, according to sources from Vodafone in the country. Prices across markets in Europe do vary, as they depend on VAT taxes, which aren’t the same in every country.
