If you're a fan of fast-paced shooters with roguelite elements, PositronX could be something that you might like. The game developed by Scorpius Games, a studio owned by Amber, is now cheaper than ever thanks to the new Steam Summer Sales event.

Starting this week and through July 8, PositronX is 50% off on Steam, which means players can buy the game for just €10 / $12. The game promises an ever-changing action-packed roguelite experience with interesting time manipulation abilities, as well as a decent first-person shooter feel and fluid movement.

Despite being described as a “fast-paced old school shooter,” PositronX features modern graphics rather than retro visuals, but that's understandable considering the game's futuristic setting.

Since we've already reviewed the game, we strongly recommend those interested to read more about PositronX in our in-depth article. But just in case, here is a short excerpt that will get you an idea of what to expect:

PositronX has a good set of first-person shooter mechanics, equal to anything that the classics have to offer. Finding a good combination of weapons and powers to clear levels is a great experience. But, despite the procedural generation, once the game progresses, runs become too similar to one another for long-term engagement.”

That's the good part, and while PositronX is far from being a bad game, there are things that we would have love to get in the game. For starters, there's little to no story that might keep you interested. Also, the game lacks multiplayer, which, we believe, would have added another layer of replayability.

Now, if for some reason you'd like to own PositronX on GOG rather than Steam, we're happy to let you know that the game is 50% off on both digital distribution platforms until July 8.
