Fujifilm North America Corporation announced today the fourth and latest model in the company's X Series mirrorless line-up of APS-C mirrorless digital cameras, the Fujifilm X-T3.

Coming more than two years after Fujifilm X-T2, the successor to the Fujifilm X-T1, the first DSLR-style weather-resistant mirrorless digital camera using the Fujifilm X-mount unveiled by Fujifilm in early 2014, the Fujifilm X-T3 continues the tradition of the X Series of APS-C mirrorless camera line-up with an all-new back-illuminated 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, as well as the brand-new X-Processor 4 Quad Core processor developed by Fujifilm.

"We are proud to introduce the new X-T3 to market as not only the latest addition to our X Series mirrorless lineup of digital cameras, but as an introduction to fourth generation technologies that feature substantial performance enhancements over previous models, delivering high AF performance, superb color reproduction and outstanding image quality to  photographers and videographers alike," said Fujifilm's Yuji Igarashi.

World’s first APS-C mirrorless camera capable of 4K/60P 10bit recording

Targeted at professional videographers and photographers, the Fujifilm X-T3 digital camera is the world's first APS-C mirrorless camera capable of 4K/60P 10bit recording. Fujifilm X-T3 is also Fujifilm's first X-Series APS-C mirrorless camera to feature the Color Chrome Effect that previously available only on the Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format mirrorless digital camera. The Color Chrome Effect produces enhanced color gradation in highly saturated colors.

Fujifilm X-T3 also delivers dramatic AF (Auto Focus) performance compared to previous X Series models thanks to its 2.16M phase detection pixels, providing fast and accurate phase detection AF and an extended phase detection AF an area to the entire frame. Additionally, the low-light phase detection AF limit was increased by 2 stops, from -1EV to -3EV, compared to Fujifilm X-T2, for accurate focus in low light conditions.

The Eye Detection AF has been improved as well to support the AF-C mode for accurate focus tracking, and Fujifilm X-T3 features a much-faster phase detection algorithm that refocuses and meters fast-moving subjects up to 1.5 times more frequently than Fujifilm X-T2. The Face Detection AF was also improved, as well as the viewfinder performance, which can now track fast-moving subjects with a magnification ratio of 0.75x.

Fujifilm X-T3 boosts the continuous shooting capabilities of the camera to up to 11fps with the mechanical shutter for fast continuous shooting, introduces a new noise reduction algorithm, as well as a 4K inter-frame noise reduction filter. The camera features various design enhancements and will hit the shelves in the U.S. and Canada in about two weeks, on September 20, 2018, available in Black and Silver models from $1,499.95 USD or $1,899.99 CAD.
