Football Manger 2016 is one of the most complex simulations in the video game world, and the team creating it at Sports Interactive compiles a lot of data to make sure that the performance of players and teams in the title is as close as possible to that seen in the real world.

Miles Jacobson, the leader of the studio, admits in a new interview with the Mirror that the process is hard enough that even his seasoned group of scouts can sometimes make mistakes and explains that he had to apologize to one player, current Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The game director goes even further, "We did always have him as all right, but I have personally said sorry to him because there was a long period where he was on loan at other clubs, and we didn't think he was going to reach the heights that he has done."

Jacobson quotes the player as admitting that part of his motivation for putting in solid performances was his wish to make sure his stats in Football Manager 2016 are improved and his finishing goes beyond the 15 mark.

According to the game director, his team only gets around 0.5 percent of the stats they put in the video game wrong and that rarely happens when high-level players from the biggest clubs are involved.

Kane's finishing was on the relatively low end at just 13 before he started a solid run of form that saw him leading Premier League scoring for the past year and breaking into the national team as one of the players who can lead at the coming European Championship in France.

The game developer also says that gamers who are looking for young stars to sign should be on the lookout for opportunities to get either Emboloo or Scuffet, an attacking midfielder and a goalkeeper who will grow up to be superstars.

Football Manager will evolve all through the year

According to Jacobson, his team is at the moment focusing on improving the Football Manager 2016 experience while also delivering an Online version of the game, first in South Korea and China.

At the moment, Sports Interactive has not announced plans for a new update that will improve gameplay, and most of the fans are happy with the state of the simulation.

Traditionally, the company delivers a new database after the major transfers from January are finalized, allowing gamers who want to start a new campaign to use the updated rosters.

Football is big business in the video game world and Football Manager, while growing, is not as popular as the more action-driven FIFA series from EA Sports.

A recent rumor from a French newspaper suggests that Lionel Messi might not appear on the cover of the next installment in the series because he has not been able to agree on a new deal with Electronic Arts.

At the moment, the company has not offered any hints about what superstar might be selected for the role.
