You can’t attempt to picket a show from the Foo Fighters and expect them to not fight back. The rockers were scheduled to perform at Kansas City’s Sprint Center on Friday, but the Westboro Baptist Church was outside the venue, with members holding the usual signs about how “God hates your idols” and “God hates fags.”

The Foo Fighters retaliated in the best way possible, trolling the members by driving up in a pickup truck, with the Rick Astley’s 1987 hit “Never Gonna Give You Up” blasted to the max.

The pickup stopped in front of the handful of WBC members, and everybody danced and held up their own signs, reading, among others “Keep it clean” and “You got Rickrolled again.”

The latter is in reference to a popular Internet meme, which surfaced in 2007 and that is still in use today. It consists in including misleading headlines to links that actually play Astley’s music video for “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

The Foo Fighters also included in their response to the WBC picket a man-hunk in a colorful swimming suit, dancing along to the music and showing off his tattoos.

This isn’t the first time that the band takes a stand against this so-called church, which has been known to “boycott” artists from Lady Gaga to Justin Bieber. In 2011, they even wrote and performed a song for protesters gathered outside one of the venues they were to perform later at, which included the lyric “I think I’m in the mood for some hot-man muffins.”

You can see that in the second YouTube video embedded below.
