Fleksy, one of the most popular keyboard applications for Android and iOS devices has just received major update that makes it free to download.

Beginning today, instead of paying a one time fee for Fleksy 6.0, you will be able to download it for free, but some features and customization options will require you to pay real money.

“We want every smartphone user to have the opportunity to experience fast, expressive, and intuitive typing. We believe the best way to do this is to make the app free for everyone,” said Co-Founder and CEO, Kosta Eleftheriou.

But making the application free to download is not the only change included in the latest update. Developers also announced a huge amount of new features and improvements for both platforms.

For example, the update adds 10 new themes, all new Emoji, GIF and imoji navigation. A new gesture has been implemented that will allow users to pull down to go back.

Optimization and extensions

Some extensions have been added, such as consolidated GIFs, imoji and Fleksy #highlights to one view for faster and smarter media content.

The update also optimizes the application, so you will now notice smoother emoji scrolling, reduced APK by another 3MB, HD theme images, and blazing fast keyboard pop.

It's also worth mentioning that application has been localized in 8 languages and now features consolidated notifications.

Last but not least, some bugs have been squashed as well, such as the theme that wouldn't stick outside Fleksy app.

You can now download Fleksy for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.

For iOS users, the keyboard application is now available for free via App Store. It should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 8.0 or later.
