Great news for those who own a Fitbit band, as developers have just announced that a new update is now available for Windows Phone users.

The new update extends Fitband's compatibility with even more devices, but also brings a few new features and improvements.

First of all, those who have just purchased their first Windows 10 smartphone will be pleased to know that Fitbit is now compatible with both Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL.

But that's not all, as developers confirmed they have updated Mobile Track to support future non-Lumia devices that run Windows 10 Mobile operating system.

There are many non-Lumia smartphones out there that are still running Windows Phone 8.1, but some of them will be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile.

LG Lancet, HTC One M8, BLU Win HD LTE are just some of the smartphones that might receive the highly-anticipated upgrade in the not-so-distant future. When they do, they will be fully compatible with Fitbit, so owners won't have to worry about that anymore.

Better Bluetooth connectivity, many bug fixes and improvements

According to the official changelog, the update also adds new Live Tiles. It's now possible to pin additional, secondary Live Tiles directly to the Start screen, including Heart Rate, Exercise, Food, Sleep and Challenges.

Also, Fitbit users will now be able to display showing Calories on the primary application tile. The Bluetooth connection has been improved when the device is paired on Windows 10.

Obviously, lots of bug fixes and general improvements have been implemented as well, but no additional details have been provided on any of them.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Fitbit for Windows Phone for free via Windows Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
