Asus ZenFone AR is the world's second commercially available Tango smartphone, after Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, which was launched back in June 2016.

However, the smartphone hasn't been officially introduced, but we reported yesterday that Qualcomm accidentally confirmed the upcoming release of the ZenFone AR on its official website.

Qualcomm wanted to brag about its new Snapdragon 821 chipset and let slip a press release with the publishing date of January 4. That's why we believe Asus will officially announce the ZenFone AR no earlier than tomorrow, January 4.

The press release contains some details about the ZenFone AR, such as the fact that it's the world's first Tango-enabled smartphone powered by Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 821 processor. It's also the first to be Daydream-ready, which means users will be able to watch VR content if they own a Daydream VR headset.

With Zenfone AR and the Daydream View headset and controller, you’ll be able to explore new worlds with apps like Google Street View and Fantastic Beasts, dive into your personal VR cinema with YouTube, Netflix, Hulu and HBO, and get your game on with Gunjack 2, LEGO BrickHeadz, Need for Speed and dozens other titles,” confirms Qualcomm.

No additional details on the phone's specs are available at the moment

What we didn't have yesterday when we reported about the Asus Zenfone AR was a picture of the upcoming smartphone. Luckily, that problem was addressed by well-known leakster Evan Blass, who published a press render of the ZenFone AR.

Now, the only thing that remains to be determined is the rest of ZenFone AR's hardware specifications, as the press render doesn't come with any details on the phone's specs.

Qualcomm was also pretty cryptic when it comes to Asus' Tango-enabled smartphone, so we can only wait until tomorrow to learn more about the ZenFone AR.

On a side note, Asus is expected to unveil another flagship smartphone at CES 2017, one that will be equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor. Hopefully, the announcement will go live tomorrow as well.
