You can expect thousands more mods in the coming months

Fallout 4 launches on November 10 and the first PC mod has been already released for it, making it look better.

Fallout 4 will enjoy a global release on November 10, but only the PC gamers will enjoy the mods and all the other improvements that will likely be made available. It’s the only platform that supports this kind of improvements, and it greatly enhances the lifespan of a game.

If we just take a look at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which now has about 16,000 mods, we’ll see that the mods have kept it alive a lot longer than everyone would have guessed.

It’s also true that it was an excellent game as well, but we only have to look at the top ten games played on Steam today, almost five years after launch, and we’ll spot Skyrim in there as well.

The first one is not a nude mod

Some of you might think that the first mod for the PC platform is something that undresses the main character, who can be a woman.

This has been suggested ad nauseam in online communities, but we’re happy to say that it’s a fairly benign mod that changes the vibrance, making the world more colorful.

"Enhanced Wasteland is a ReShade/SweetFX Preset. The goal of this preset was to slightly add more vibrance to the wasteland environment in Fallout 4 and make it appear less washed out. There is also usage of other settings that I think make the game look better," wrote the maker of this mod on nexusmods.com.

Bethesda has announced that it plans to release modding tools for the community next year, but since this is using the same Creation Engine from Skyrim (albeit updated), you can be sure that the community will contribute from day one to Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 launches on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 tomorrow, November 10.
