Microsoft has recently launched the Surface Pro 7+, a new device specifically aimed at businesses, and as it turns out, another important release is coming in the spring.

More specifically, it’s the highly anticipated Surface Laptop 4, an all-new Surface model that would obviously come with substantial upgrades under the hood.

A report from WinFuture provides us with an early look at the new CPU lineup coming on the Surface Laptop 4, and if the leak is accurate, then the device is about to get quite a major upgrade.

First and foremost, it’s worth knowing the Surface Laptop 4 would continue to be offered in 13- and 15-inch versions, just like the current model. And of course, both models would be available with Intel and AMD chips, according to the cited source.

Latest-generation Intel and AMD chips

The latest-generation Intel chips would be offered, namely Intel Core i5-1145G7 and Intel Core i7-1185G7 processors (an i3 version wouldn’t launch, it seems), with the top-of-the-range configuration to feature no less than 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

When it comes to the AMD versions, Microsoft will go for AMD Ryzen 5 4680U and AMD Ryzen 7 4980U, though this time the maximum amount of RAM available on a Surface Laptop 4 would be 16GB, while for storage, the highest you’ll be able to go is 512GB.

Needless to say, Microsoft has remained completely tight-lipped on everything related to the Surface Laptop 4, and while this early leak provides us with a look at what’s to come in terms of CPU upgrades, we still don’t know if the company is planning a more modern design or not.

One of the biggest disappointments on the Surface Pro 7+ was the somewhat updated design with the same large bezels used on the previous Pro models, so everybody hopes the Surface Laptop 4 would launch with a more refined look overall.
