Microsoft has released the first Microsoft Edge 90 build, obviously as part of the Dev channel, as the company wants to collect feedback before more improvements make their way to the stable version.

The new build is 90.0.782.0, and it comes with several notable improvements, including the revamped What’s New page on the Insider website which now includes a roadmap as well to let you know what’s to come for the browser.

The company has also officially introduced the new downloads UI spotted in Canary builds recently.

“When you start a download, a new menu will now appear in the top-right corner with all your active downloads in one place. This menu is easily dismissible so you can continue browsing uninterrupted. Best of all, you can monitor your overall download progress right from the toolbar thanks to the new progress ring on the downloads button,” Microsoft explains.

Plenty of crash fixes this time

This build introduces improvements for smoothness and latency when working with ink support in PDF documents, as well as a refined Cookies in Use dialog to provide users with more information. The company says it has also added a new management policy in this update.

“Added a management policy to manage the Smart Actions Block List, which prevents certain context menu actions from being available, and for Windows Hello For HTTP Auth Enabled to control whether or not the basic credential prompt appears for NTLM or Negotiate.  Note that updates to administrative templates or documentation may not be available yet,” the company says.

As usual, the new Dev build also comes with plenty of fixes for the overall experience with the app, and you can check out the full changelog in the box after the jump for additional information on what’s new in the first Edge 90 release.
