Microsoft has just announced a new update for Microsoft Edge Dev, and this time the notable bit isn’t necessarily the changelog but the switch to Chromium 91.

Microsoft Edge 91.0.825.0 Is therefore the first build from version 91, so Microsoft is getting ready to push version 90 to the beta channel in the coming days.

Just as expected, this new release comes with several new features, including support for reading Wikipedia pages in the Immersive Reader experience, even with support for the table of contents.

“New to Immersive Reader is a Table of Contents so you can easily navigate through Wikipedia pages while using Immersive Reader . Click on Contents with icon (three lines and dots in the toolbar) to open the navigation pane and see a list of sections based on the Wikipedia webpage. You can click on any of the labels in the pane to navigate to that section of the webpage. You can keep the pane open for as long as you need it and close by either clicking Contents button or cross (x) button when you want to go back to reading the document,” Microsoft explains.

New policies and more fixes

The new update also includes improvements for the Read Aloud to skip extraneous content on some webpages, and Microsoft says it has completed the rollout of on-demand password generation from the context menu.

There are also some new policies, as well as plenty of fixes, some of which are specifically aimed at crashes that occur either on launch or when using the browser.

Overall, this is an important release for the future of Microsoft Edge, but keep in mind it’s just a Dev build, so various glitches could still be experienced every once in a while. If you want a fully refined experience, the stable channel is the right pick for you.
