Mozilla has released Firefox 98 for iOS, and this time, the new version comes with pretty big changes, starting with support for changing home screen wallpapers.

Firefox is one of the most popular browsers not only on the desktop but also on mobile, and on iOS, it’s considered a very advanced alternative to Safari.

Needless to say, every single update released by Mozilla typically brings welcome improvements, and given today’s release is a major new version, Firefox is also getting a bunch of new features.

The first of them is support for changing the home screen wallpaper, a feature that many users are going to love given they can further customize the look of the browser.

“You can change the wallpaper to customize your home screen in Firefox for iOS. Tap the Firefox logo in the top left corner of your home screen to cycle through the available wallpapers. You can also view available wallpapers and change your wallpaper in your Customize Homepage settings,” Mozilla explains.

New home for the search bar

At the same time, Firefox for iOS now comes with a new position for the search bar, as Mozilla has moved it to the bottom of the screen.

If you believe this is something you’ve seen somewhere else, you’re not wrong, as Safari has also implemented a similar change in the latest major iOS update. Several other browsers also come with the bar at the bottom of the screen.

Of course, Mozilla also allows users to restore the default layout if they want the search box at the top.

“The search bar in Firefox for iOS will now appear at the bottom of the screen by default. However, you can choose to move it to the top of the screen instead in Settings,” Mozilla explains.

The new version of Firefox can be found on the App Store on this page.
