Starbucks has already confirmed earlier this year that it is working on an official Windows 10 universal app aimed at both PCs and mobile devices running the latest Microsoft operating system, but the company has never provided a release date, leaving us with the super frustrating “soon” trademark.

And now it turns out that development is advancing really fast, and the team at Starbucks is at long last ready to release the app, as the company confirms in a tweet that the Windows 10 version is coming this month.

No other details have been provided, but given the fact that it’ll be a universal app, the official Starbucks app will offer support for both PCs and smartphones, although there’s no doubt that it makes more sense on mobile devices. The app will most likely come with features to find the nearest Starbucks locations, convert points to gifts and other tools that are currently available on the Android and iOS versions.

Features in Starbucks for iOS

The iOS version, for example, has been quite successful and received updates regularly to make the most of the latest iPhone features.

For example, the latest update brings on iOS support for Touch ID, thus adding a new layer of protection should users want to secure their personal information with a fingerprint, but also 3D Touch to quickly open the Pay menu or Order & Reload options straight from the home screen.

It’s not yet clear if the Windows Phone version will also integrate Windows 10 Mobile functionality, but it would be certainly a neat addition to see it supporting features such as Windows Hello, which would clearly make it more secure.

For the moment, however, the only thing we can do is wait until the release takes place and hope that the company won’t push the launch back. If this month release target is maintained, the app should be here in about two weeks or so.
