Square Enix announced last year that an enhanced version of Final Fantasy IX would be launched on PC at the beginning of 2016.

Although we're already in February, the game is still missing from Steam, and Square Enix has yet to share more details on its release.

However, Final Fantasy fans will be pleased to know that the game has been unexpectedly released for mobile devices. Both App Store and Google Play Store are now listing Final Fantasy IX, which, sadly, doesn't come cheap at all.

In fact, the game is quite steep, as potential customers will have to pay no less than $17 for Square Enix's gem. Even though iOS users might be used to such high prices, Android users will probably be shocked to learn about it.

But that's not the suggested retail price recommended by Square Enix. Final Fantasy IX is now available for 20% off until February 21, after which it will be listed for the full price.

High-definition models, autosave feature

Moving on to the actual game, Square Enix confirmed Final Fantasy IX comes on Android and iOS with additional features like achievements, 7 game boosters including high speed and no encounter modes, as well as high-definition movies and character models.

Also, let's not forget that developers have also implemented an autosave feature, which will be available on both Android and iOS platforms, but also on PC.

Naturally, Final Fantasy IX comes with a few minigames such as Chocobo Hot and Cold, Jump Rope, and Tetra Master. All these minigames give special items rewards, so make sure you play them.

You can now download Final Fantasy IX for Android for $17 via Google Play store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 4.1 or later.

For iOS users, the game can be downloaded for $17 via App Store. The game should work smoothly on all devices running iOS 7.0 or later.
