Video game developer EA Sports is currently celebrating seven years since the Ultimate Team mode was first introduced to the football simulation series, and a new Team of the Week package is coming today for all fans, designed to offer access to some of the best players featured in real-world matches.

The biggest star of the delivery is Luigi Buffon, one of the most celebrated Italian goalkeepers, who gets a new version in which he is rated at 86.

When it comes to attacking, options gamers can pick up Gonzalo Higuain and Harry Kane, who have been both essential in securing points for their teams.

Midfield action is very important in FIFA 16, with the best players asked to both defend and prepare their team for attack, and the new Team of the Week offers access to Volland, Mane, Pogba, Cesc Fabregas, and Ben Arfa.

The defensive line that's offered for Ultimate Team is made up of Fabinho, Fernandez, and Smalling.

The goalkeeper that EA Sports has selected for the Team of the Week is Buffon.

As always, the package also includes seven substitutes that can be used to plug holes in the team or can be traded away for some extra funds, and other five players are also featured to make sure that players have access to a wider array of choices when playing the Draft experience.

FIFA 17 needs to deliver an updated take on Ultimate Team

The game mode, which allows players to use cards to craft their perfect football team and then take that setup online to compete with other players and win tournaments, has been a very solid revenue stream for Electronic Arts since it was first introduced.

But the Draft experience that arrived in FIFA 16 seems to have failed to innovate, and the community has been asking EA Sports to tweak it for future installments in order to make it more attractive.

Official information about a new FIFA title will probably be provided at the events that Electronic Arts plans to hold alongside the E3 2016 event in June.

For the first time in quite some time, Lionel Messi might no longer grace the cover of the game because of a commercial dispute between him and the publisher, with the company apparently exploring new options for the star position.

FIFA 17 will probably be launched at some point in September and will arrive on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.
