It's unclear when functionality will be restored

The development team at EA Sports is currently saying that it is still performing maintenance on FIFA 15 in order to deal with a range of problems linked to the Ultimate Team Store that were reported by a lot of members of the fan base.

The official Twitter account says that the downtime will continue as the company expands its investigation and also makes it clear that it does not have an Estimate Time of Arrival for when the football simulation will be back up.

Initially, the maintenance for FIFA 15 was supposed to only last for two hours, but it seems that the problems go deeper than initially thought.

Gamers cannot access the online features of the title, but they can start it up in order to play the offline modes.

Given the importance of the Ultimate Mode experience to the series, EA Sports is likely to continue the maintenance until it is happy with how the problems have been solved.

It's unclear whether there are plans to deliver compensation for those who were affected by the Store issues and whether additional measures are put into place to make sure that nothing similar will happen in the future.

FIFA 16 will offer an enhanced Ultimate Team experience

Despite the fact that the studio has offered a lot of information about the features coming in the new installment of the football sim, it has not shared too many details about the way its most important mode will work.

EA Sports has said that the main goals are to make sure that all player information is as secure as possible at all times, with less vulnerability for the accounts, and that the playing field is as level as possible for all those who take part.

Presumably, the game will introduce more ways to create a high-performance team using a wider array of players and will give players more control over the way stars interact with each other.

FIFA 16 will be launched on September 24 and the best platforms to play it on are the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Older devices will also get the simulation, but these will be Legacy versions that will be missing some features.

UPDATE: FIFA 15 is coming back on most platforms, but it seems that there still are some problems on the Xbox One and the 360.
