Earlier in the day, FIFA 15 received a new Team of the Week for the Ultimate Team mode, but given the limited championship activity, the quality of the players is not great, so the development team at EA Sports has chosen to launch a new Team of the Season package on the same day as compensation.

This new line-up is selected by the members of the studio and contains some of the best players from all over Europe.

The starting eleven for the new Team of the Season is made up of:

- goalkeeper: David De Gea from Manchester United

- defenders: Giorgio Chiellini, playing for Juventus, Thiago Silva of Paris Saint-Germain, Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia CF, and Jerome Boateng of Bayern Munchen

- midfielders: Eden Hazard of Chelsea, Paul Pogba from Juventus, and Kevin de Bruyne, playing for VfL Wolfsburg

- attackers: Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, Alexandre Lacazette of Olympique Lyonnais, and Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona.

Given that the EA Sports selection basically includes the best players for the positions, the list of substitutes is also impressive, including Gianluigi Buffon from Juventus, Manuel Neuer from Bayern Munchen, Naldo of VfL Wolfsburg, John Terry from Chelsea, James Rodríguez of Real Madrid, Cesc Fabregas, playing for Chelsea, Dimitri Payet from Olympique de Marseille, Arjen Robben of Bayern Munchen, Thomas Muller from Bayern Munchen, Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, Neymar of FC Barcelona, and Carlos Tevez from Juventus.

The focus is now entirely on FIFA 16

Team of the Week packages might be offered for FIFA 15 in the coming weeks, but the resources of the company are now dedicated to putting the finishing touches on the next installment in the series.

EA Sports says that the defensive experience in FIFA 16 is enhanced with new moves and allows gamers to use their entire team to block attacks.

Attackers will also get more options when they take a shot on goal, and there are more options for dribbling.

Midfielders also have more options in the coming football sim, with more ways to deliver passes that create opportunities for the rest of the team.

FIFA 16 will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4 from Sony, and the Xbox One from Microsoft on September 24.

No details about the improvements coming to the Ultimate Team mode have been offered.

Legacy versions of the title, which will not have the full feature set, will be offered for older consoles.
