14 DAY TRIAL // Fedora 24 is currently in heavy development with the Beta release knocking at the door, and it looks like the Fedora Project developers are already planning on the next major release of the GNU/Linux operating system.
Yes, that's right, we're talking about Fedora 25, whose release schedule is now live on the Fedora Project Wiki, suggesting that the final release of the Linux kernel-based operating system sponsored by the Red Hat giant could see the light of day later this year on November 8.
From the release schedule, we can also notice that the development cycle of Fedora 25 Linux will start less than one month after the release of Fedora 24, which is currently planned for launch on June 14. Then, the Fedora 25 Alpha build should hit the streets on August 23, 2016.
Fedora 25 Beta's release date is October 4, and the Beta Freeze stage takes place September 20, 2016. Other interesting dates on the Fedora 25 release schedule are July 5 as the proposal submission deadline for system wide changes (we saw none of those until now, but we'll try to write an article later this month).
Fedora 25 might get several delays during its entire development cycle
The dates mentioned above are just on paper, and you shouldn't stick with them because Fedora Linux is known to get several delays during its entire development cycle. So, most probably, we will get our hands on the final Fedora 25 release sometimes at the end of November 2016.
But, right now, we should concentrate our attention on Fedora 24, which should get its Beta build next week, on May 10, and it looks like the final release is landing on June 14, 2016, after three delays. The Final Freeze stage for Fedora 24 is in effect starting May 31.
