The development team at Ubisoft in charge of Far Cry Primal is ready to reveal the system requirements associated with the new title, with the company delivering some relatively accessible minimum specs, although gamers might have to invest a little to get the best experience.

The coming action will only run on 64-bit systems, and the developers are saying that they are now supporting all laptop configurations, even if they include the mentioned hardware.

The minimum system requirements for Far Cry Primal are Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, Intel Core i3-550 or AMD Phenom II X4 955 or better, 4 GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 with 1GB VRAM or AMD Radeon HD 5770 with 1GB VRAM, 20 GB of free hard drive space.

The recommended system requirements for the title are Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, Intel Core i7-2600K or AMD FX-8350 or better, 8GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 or AMD Radeon R9 280X or better, 20 GB of free hard drive space.

Ubisoft has said that, on the PC, Far Cry Primal is designed to run at increased resolution and with extra details, testing the limits of various computer configurations.

Far Cry Primal will be offered on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and the Xbox One from Microsoft on February 23, and gamers who want to play it on the PC will have to wait until March 1.

Gamers will play a hunter who can tame animals

Primal is a clear sign that Ubisoft is happy with the idea of taking the ore Far Cry formula in some non-conventional directions, as it first did with the Blood Dragon spin-off, which was well received by the fan community and by reviewers.

The new title will cast gamers in the role of Takkar, a hunter who is ambushed and left alone and without any tools or weapons in a valley, able to tame animals to defend himself and survive.

The story follows the character as he becomes more powerful and challenges for a leadership of the tribe of humans living in the land of Oros, around 12,000 years before present time.

Far Cry Primal does not feature any guns and gamers will have to use melee weapons and short range bows to deal with enemies, with the developers promising that combat will feel engaging and fun.

Crafting is more important than in previous installments in the series, and players will even have to worry around making fire survive and finding enough food to sustain them during their adventures.

The land of Oros is populated with mammoths and saber tooth tigers, and the title will feature both hunting moments focused on these powerful creatures and the ability for players to tame them or ride them.

Ubisoft says that it has worked with linguists to create the special language featured in Far Cry Primal and that it wants the experience to mix fun gameplay and some realistic moments.

The game will not feature a multiplayer mode.
