Onslaught adds new flying units and a procedurally campaign

Six months after the release of Fantasy General II, the reimagination of the strategy game classic from the 90s, developer Owned by Gravity and publisher Slitherine announced a brand new DLC that will add a slew of exciting new content.

Firstly, there will be 13 new aerial units, which will greatly expand the original roster and allows players to experiment with new tactics and maneuvers. Among these new aerial units, expect to be able to recruit Eagle Bombers, Firebirds, Pegasus Flamers, Monster Hunters, and many more.

Another important addition to the game via the upcoming Onslaught DLC is a brand-new campaign of over 30 procedurally-generated maps to choose from, which means no two campaigns will be the same. Before you start a new campaign, you'll be able to choose your preferred hero and go on the hunt for the Book of Krell and try to overcome any challenges thrown at you by The Unspeakable.

The campaign will take players from the abandoned castle of King Dragga to the Lizard infested shores of Eastern Keldonia until they will finally face The Unspeakable. Each hero that you can choose at the beginning of the campaign comes with different skills, armies and advantages, but you'll also be able to pick your rewards for winning maps and evolve your strategies.

The new procedurally-generated campaign should provide enough of a challenge for veterans of the genre, especially when combined with the new Iron Maiden mode.

Also, the DLC contains a new map for the Invasion campaign, which introduces the new aerial units and a Barbarian Clan of Eagle Riders. If you've played through the original campaign, you don't want to miss the new map.

Fantasy General II Onslaught DLC is scheduled for release on March 12, but you can already wishlist in on Steam. It doesn't have a price yet, so you'll have to wait two more days to find out how much it costs.
