The account already posted six Android-related pictures

In a move that's meant to surprise its fans, Google created an official @Android account on Instagram, which, hopefully, will get the company closer to consumers.

Although no pictures of food have been posted yet, we get to see some of the products that Google has been releasing in the last couple of years.

Obviously, the sweets that suggested each Android name could not be overlooked, so expect to see some lollipops, nougat, marshmallows, ice cream and jelly beans in the first pictures published by the account's owner.

If you are into Instagram, then you should know that Google only posted six Android-related pictures, which show some of its newest products like the Pixel and Nexus 6P smartphones.

Some Android Wear smartwatches are shown as well, along with a Nexus tablet. Android Pay and Android Auto service are well represented in the pictures, too.

“A grid of sweet treats and #AndroidAdventures”

As of today, the Android account on Instagram has more than 6,000 followers, but it also follows 9 accounts. The account's tagline seems quite alright as well: “A grid of sweet treats and #AndroidAdventures.”

If you visit the Instagram account you'll notice that two of the pictures feature short animations. Also, all six seem to be pieces of a bigger collage like in a huge puzzle that Google has decided to split into six parts.

We haven't identified any Easter eggs for the time being, but there are many dedicated fans who will probably scour and explore these first six pictures many times to find out anything that Google might have hidden in the plain sight.

Google will probably continue to add more pictures on its @Android account, possibly with more food in them. In case you want to follow the official account don't forget to install the Instagram application on your Android device.
