The folks over at Bethesda have just released a major update for their first mobile game, Fallout Shelter. This should keep fans of the franchise busy until the studio's Fallout 4 hits PCs and consoles on November 10.

Although the new update has been released on both Android and iOS platforms, there's some stuff that's only available in the latter.

For example, Piper from Fallout 4 and five free lunchboxes are exclusively available to iOS players, so if you run an Android device, then you won't be getting any of these.

On a more positive note, developers added a brand-new Survival Mode, which should provide veteran players with a more challenging experience that includes more danger, but also more glory.

Developers also added new Vault-Tec network protocols, so players can now save their Vault to the “cloud,” and continue any Vault experiment on all of their devices.

General improvements and bug fixes have also been added

Furthermore, Dwellers will be able to scavenge equipment from dead Raiders and gear up. Also, the tutorial of the game can now be skipped, which is especially useful for those who want to start another Vault.

According to Bethesda, “in an effort to assist Overseers in running their Vaults more efficiently,” they have implemented a statistics page to the Vault Dweller’s Survival Guide. Support for Russian-speaking Overseers has been added too.

One other improvement has been included in this update, you can check it below. As mentioned by developers, “some Dwellers are reporting sightings of a mysterious individual in Vaults around the Wasteland. Vault-Tec is offering a bottle cap reward for any positive identification.”

If you don't have the game yet, you can now download Fallout Shelter for Android for free via Google Play Store. The game is fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.1 and up.

For iOS players, the game can be downloaded for free via App Store. It should run smoothly on all devices powered by iOS 7.0 or later.
