Bethesda confirms that, with its upcoming Fallout 4 post-apocalyptic role-playing game, it wants to deliver a degree of freedom that's similar to the one seen in the more recent Grand Theft Auto 5 experience made by Rockstar Games.

Fallout 4 is without a doubt one of the biggest games of the year and already millions of franchise and RPG fans are eagerly awaiting its November debut.

Developer Bethesda has already gone in-depth about different mechanics, features, and design philosophies in recent weeks, especially during E3 2015.

Expect lots of freedom from Fallout 4

Now, while talking with Gamespot, Bethesda's Todd Howard confirms that one of the main goals of Fallout 4 is to let players experience a huge amount of freedom.

According to Howard, who oversees the whole game, Fallout 4 will try to rival Rockstar's recent Grand Theft Auto 5 experience in terms of freedom for players. He also adds that his own team is often surprised with just how much liberty GTA 5 offers and wants to do the same with the post-apocalyptic RPG.

"Well, in our games, we want to give you complete freedom. So, I think of the last few years, I think GTA 5 had succeeded the most at the same type of thing we try to do. That’s what we try to create, that sense of going anywhere and doing anything. GTA 5 does it so well. It puts you in its world and it makes you its director. It says yes to the player a lot, and that’s what we try to do. It’s just a phenomenal game," he explains.

As such, while Fallout 4 won't let you drive cars around the wasteland, fans can expect to have a much better time exploring its environments without feeling restricted or guided down specific paths.

You can expect to see and hear much more about the freedom offered by Fallout 4 in the future, as we get closer to its debut on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on November 10, worldwide.
